Weddings – Digital Image Options
Here is how the CD options work:
I shoot lots of pictures of everyone involved, in whatever combinations or groups you like, as well as individual’s portraits. I fine tune all of the images for proper exposure, contrast, white balance, sharpness etc., and I transfer all of your photos to you on line as 3000×2000 pixel digital images. The only photos that I usually edit out are ones that are useless for one reason or another, like eyes closed or an awkward expression that no one will want to see. There is no print credit with the “Digital Image Options” as with the other packages.
Digital Images Only –
Half hour $545.00
One Hour $675.00
Hour and a half $775.00
Two Hour $990.00
TO ADD HIGH RESOLUTION (3000 X 2000 pixel) JPG DIGITAL IMAGES TO THE REGULAR PACKAGES YOU HAVE SEEN ON THE WEBSITE:
Option 1a) One hour package – The regular shoot cost is $450.00, which includes a $75.00 print credit when you order prints. You can purchase digital copies of all the images for an additional $295.00.
Option 2a) Hour and a half package – The regular shoot cost is $550.00 with a $100.00 print credit when you order prints. You can purchase digital copies of all the images for an additional $385.00.
Option 3a) Two hour package – the regular shoot cost is $650.00 with a $125.00 print credit when you order prints. You can purchase digital copies of all the images for an additional $475.00.
Low resolution option; (after regular shoot fees):
You can purchase all of the images I shoot as low resolution Jpeg digital images for $125.00 (half hour); $150.00 (one hour); or $175.00 (hour and a half). These would include all of the images you see under your family’s name on my proofing website. Low resolution Jpegs are great for viewing on your computer screen at about 4×6”size, sharing with friends, putting on the web etc. They would be 4×6 at 72 ppi (dpi).
You can purchase individual low resolution jpeg digital images for $35.00 each. These are adequate for the purposes noted above, and for Christmas/greeting cards. These would be 4×6 @ 250ppi (dpi).
The traditional goal of professional portrait photographers has been to provide beautiful artwork that you and your family would be proud to display in your home, which would be enjoyed for many years, and passed down for generations. These days it could be in the form of detailed retouched prints, fine art canvas gallery wraps or metal prints, or flat canvas prints suitable for framing. This is why my original packages emphasize prints.
I do understand that in today’s digital age, many people like to have images they can share on the web via social networking. I am happy to provide the digital images for these purposes. They will be fine-tuned for color, sharpness and contrast, and will be excellent photos to begin with, but they are no substitute for the kind of artwork you might want to hang on your wall. As the “Digital Image” option will contain a large number of images, they are not individually “retouched” as we would do for a large print made for display. (Retouching involves removing stray hairs, smoothing skin, reducing shine and wrinkles, and removing objects/people from the background.)
If you plan to display your photos in your home or office, please consider ordering those, and especially your large prints, gallery wraps etc. from me so I can give them the appropriate attention needed to create a truly great portrait for you.
