Garden Island Photography is based in Kilauea, on the north shore of Kauai, Hawaii. The site is maintained as an evergreen guide to photographing the island, and we are always glad to hear from readers.

Please note that the original portrait studio is no longer taking session bookings, and we do not sell prints through this site. For help finding a working photographer on the island, the directory maintained by Professional Photographers of America is a reliable place to start.

What to Include
The most useful messages tell us three things: which page or location you are asking about, when you visited or plan to visit (season changes almost every answer on Kauai), and what you observed if you are reporting a change - new parking rules, a closed access path, altered reservation requirements. Photographs of changed conditions are welcome and genuinely helpful.
What We Do With Reports
Reader reports are checked against official sources - county park notices, state park announcements and the like - and the relevant location guide is updated when a change is confirmed. The guides aim to stay current the way the studio's working list always did: through people on the ground saying what they saw. A note that saves the next family a wasted drive to a closed access is a real contribution to the island's photography community, and we credit nothing but appreciate everything.
